With his achievement, UVA's men's program earned its first individual title in regionals. Ayeni, a two-time All American, advances to the NCAA finals for the third time in as many years, per Virginia Sports website. The finals will be held in Fayetteville, Arkansas 10-13 June 2009.
Chris Keller of Matawan, representing Monmouth University, finished 14th with a discus throw of 162' 4" , according to GoMUHawks website.
