According to the
Huntington County Democrat, Evelyn "Toots" Gray died in Flemington, NJ on 11 September 2009 at the age of 85. She was born and raised in Matawan, the daughter of Harold and Phoebe Ann (Bendy) Ziegler. The 1930 census showed her as one of ten children. She worked at the GM plant in Linden during World War II. For seventeen years, she worked in food services for the Matawan Aberdeen Regional School District. She moved to Flemington in 2003 to be closer to her daughter.
