Mission Matawan 2009
Folks are beginning to gather once again to set in motion the local summer tradition known as Mission Matawan, which runs from Saturday 20 June to Friday 26 June 2009. An annual project of the First Presbyterian Church of Matawan, Mission Matawan involves both church and community volunteers helping our elderly, infirm and needy neighbors with some home or yard work or basic household chores. The project relies on local volunteers, who set aside a few hours or days one week per year to help clean a garage or basement, rake a yard, sweep a sidewalk, clear a gutter, trim some shrubs, touch up a paint job, move a piece of furniture, help decorate, or even do a bit of sewing for neighbors who can't manage these tasks for themselves.
Consider joining the many volunteers who meet for breakfast at the church and head out in teams with bag lunches to their assorted assignments. You'll not only touch a neighbor's heart, you'll warm your own soul.

For more information about meeting times and volunteering, contact the church office at 732-566-2663. Checks with tax deductible donations can be made out to the First Presbyterian Church. They should be earmarked for Mission Matawan and sent to the church at 883 State Highway 34, Matawan, NJ 07747.
