Aberdeen Town Council will hold a workshop followed by a regular council meeting beginning at 7pm on St. Patrick's Day. Aberdeen's Planning Board meets on 18 March at 7:30pm.

ReplyDeleteI attended a PTO/ Community Relations meeting w/ Dr. O' Malley last night & when asked, he confirmed that our state aid would be the same as last year, so there will be no increase in the school tax levy for Aberdeen.
He said that Matawan's should go up 75 cents a month, because of the re-evaluations done in both towns.
I wonder if there will be a lot of residents appealing their property tax assessments? And I wonder if that even matters as far as the school budget is concerned? It may only affect how the pie is cut, not the size of the pie. The timing of the recent property reviews couldn't have been worse. Didn't local housing values fall considerably over the past six months?
