And for what? Slobs. Just returned from a dog walk and am disgusted.Meghannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7442846349063232268.post-57945845737008276572011-04-14T09:36:01.884-04:002011-04-14T09:36:01.884-04:00No, I'm sorry, I was not clear. I'm talki...No, I'm sorry, I was not clear. I'm talking about the actual beach right now in real time. The latest storm took the beach right over the road again, wiped out more of the dune. The workers used an earth mover to move stuff around, they hosed off the road afterwards but if you go down there, you can see we lost more dune. I shudder to imagine a hurricane.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7442846349063232268.post-31294986549577645042011-04-13T20:26:20.561-04:002011-04-13T20:26:20.561-04:00If you're talking about the tidal margin you c...If you're talking about the tidal margin you can see in the photographs I posted, it was low tide. That area is usually covered with water and has no beach or dune. The beach was hit hard during a storm last year, when indeed much of the dune blew and washed away, but that area is not in these photographs. Dune restoration would be nice. I'm quite disoriented when I go down to the shore lately because I can see Brooklyn across the Raritan Bay from 100 yards away from the beach.Pathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09082406276423678772noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7442846349063232268.post-36370145689921466132011-04-13T13:14:47.574-04:002011-04-13T13:14:47.574-04:00The beach looks devastated. Maybe dune restoration is a matter of high priority!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7442846349063232268.post-67073207701175395372011-04-13T09:13:54.219-04:002011-04-13T09:13:54.219-04:00Yikes! The configuration of the beach looks different to me too. Am I crazy or should all our efforts be going into dune restoration, instead of flattening out the beach after every storm?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7442846349063232268.post-74488861837274914392011-04-10T19:02:05.588-04:002011-04-10T19:02:05.588-04:00I took some pictures of the graffiti on the seawal...I took some pictures of the graffiti on the seawall. There was more painted sidewalk today, less than 24 hours since I was there. I've updated the blog article to include photographs.Pathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09082406276423678772noreply@blogger.com
