Police Stop on Route 24 Leads to Serious Charges Against Two Local Men

The Police Blotter in today's NorthJersey includes these two local fellows who are in quite serious trouble in the Millburn/Short Hills area after a traffic stop on Route 24.

On July 27 at approximately 3:11 p.m., a motor vehicle stop on Route 24 of a vehicle that had been reported stolen resulted in the arrest of the driver, Rashon B. Mitter, 26, from Matawan and passenger Tyrone D. Spann, 25, from Keyport for allegedly possessing the stolen car and a quantity of marijuana found in the vehicle.

The vehicle had been reported stolen by a rental car company. Both Spann and Mitter were charged with receiving stolen property, possession of more than 50 grams of marijuana and manufacturing, distributing or dispensing marijuana. Additionally, Mitter was issued a summons for drug possession by a motor vehicle operator. Both men were released after posting bond.
