Matawan Council Emphasizes Public Access in Rejecting Fence

In denying the Community YMCA's request for a fence around the playground at Borough Hall, the Matawan Borough Council determined that such a fence would tend to restrict public access, according to The Independent. Mayor BuccelIato noted that the playground is not exclusive to the YMCA and a fence would give that impression. If the YMCA needs to manage the children on the playground, he added, it will have to maintain sufficient staff to do so.
