An April 2009 Walk in Cliffwood Beach

I took some photographs today on my afternoon walk. I passed the Bayview Presbyterian Church on West Concourse and made my way down to the path towards the Raritan Bay. The path goes past where the old Cliffwood Beach pool is hidden by bushes and then up a knoll to a stand of trees near Treasure Lake. We had quite a rain storm most of the day, so the ground was covered with puddles, the sun was peaking out from a sky still swarming with clouds, and both the bay and the lake were uneasy.

  1. Thanks. I hope to take more pics with the onset of better weather and sunnier evenings. If you have suggestions for photo topics, let me know. I was thinking of getting some shots at Gravelly Brook Park and some shots of kids playing intramural sports. I never seem to be able to get a good shot of the doughboy statue in the park at the corner of Main Street and Broad Street. I've never tried to get a pic of the firemen's memorial there. Both would support good articles for the blog, btw. I don't know Strathmore and Freneau intimately enough to have good picture ideas, at least not yet. I might have to stalk those areas and get some ideas. Give me a few hints if you can picture some pictures.

  2. I always thought the Burroughs Mansion would make for a good picture. Lots of history there. People fishing at the sea wall would have great local flavor (boy I wish they'd put our benches back!).
